ABOUT US

Ozprey is based in Western Australia and was founded by Kenji and Emilie (brother and sister). Our passion started in the early 2000s, with WOTC Pokémon cards, before moving more towards Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh. This passion for collecting was however re-ignited in 2019/2020 where opening packs together would become more than just a hobby, but mainly a way to check in on each other during COVID and forget about the pandemic.

Ozprey was named after the Eastern Osprey, a bird of prey found around Oceania. The reason for this choice is its iconic presence in some regions of the state, but also for its unique hunting technique. Spotting its prey from up to 40m above the surface of the water, the osprey torpedoes towards it, diving up to an impressive 1m deep, rarely missing its target. At it’s origin, Ozprey was created to be middleman for multiple grading companies both locally and internationally. The reference to the osprey was in relationship to our pre-grading services we provided back then via condition reports. Over the years however, we became more well known for our range of supplies readily available in Perth, and more importantly our affordable Japanese TCG offerings and knowledge.

Since its foundation, our goal has always been to become a one stop shop for collectors and players alike. To those who have been with us on this journey since Day 1, we thank you and you know who you are. To others joining us along the way, there is still much to do, but without your support we would not be where we are today. From launching our own branded acrylics to becoming well-known at local shows and events, it’s all thanks to our amazing community. We won’t stop until our goal has been fulfilled!
